Vuzix Corporation, a supplier of smart glasses and augmented reality technologies and products for the consumer and enterprise markets, has announced that the Vuzix M300 Smart Glasses are now supported by the Vuforia AR platform from PTC, according to a press release. Vuforia support for the Vuzix M300 Smart Glasses will enable users to improve workflows and open new market opportunities in the enterprise. The Vuzix M300 is a personal display and wearable computing device that has been deployed within the enterprise to provide hands-free mobile computing.
PTC worked closely with Vuzix to optimize Vuforia Engine for the M300. PTC's device-level expertise was critical to best utilize the M300's Intel Atom processor and Android OS. Vuforia support for the Vuzix M300 will give more than 400,000 Vuforia developers a hands-free option for deploying AR solutions in the enterprise.
Vuforia developers can download the Unity 2017.3 beta, or the Vuforia early access release for the Vuzix M300 on the Vuforia developer portal. The Vuzix M300 has physical distribution channels and is currently shipping devices to 45 countries with plans to expand distribution to 55 countries.
