DynaTouch, a kiosk solution provider, recently designed and installed eight outdoor, wall-mounted touchscreen units for the Austin Convention Center, according to a press release

Muniz Concrete & Contracting selected DynaTouch to work with MWM Design Group and Building Image Group as part of a sidewalk improvement project. Each 55-inch touchscreen unit is housed within large signs with LED backlighting, designed to look like giant name badges. Neon lights top each name badge – two with the words «Welcome» and six with the words, «Hello, My Name is…» in different languages.

Users can choose one of two ways to introduce themselves to the city and take a selfie in front of their own giant name badge. On certain units they can choose «Draw» and use their finger to sketch a picture and add their name. On other units, they can select pre-designed background art, then pick their own fonts and colors to add their name or message. Visitors can also choose to play games, learn some fun facts about Texas, and explore the «Visit Austin» website to find things to do around the city.

The kiosks provide these functions using TIPS kiosk management software as the platform to lock down the browser, secure the system and track usage data. Additionally, TIPS software allows service personnel to remotely monitor kiosk performance, review reports and manage certain display content on any kiosk solution.
