A kiosk called the Happiness Bank in the Telecom Regulatory Authority in Dubai has received an overwhelming response among the employees, according to the Khaleej Times

The kiosk was provided by KeyBS, a kiosk provider based in Dubai, which advised Kiosk Marketplace about the kiosk via email.

Happiness Bank is a kiosk that motivates employees to express and share happiness to their colleagues through sending «Happiness Cheques» through the machine. The sender and receiver receive points upon participation. After collecting a certain number of points, the employee can redeem them to a gift dispensed by the machine.

The kiosk surprises employees with the points they earn as tokens of appreciation from other employees. The points can be redeemed through the kiosk. The surprises can range from a ticket to a concert to a two-day vacation stay.

Employee preferences are learned from information collected at the time the employees open their «Happiness Account» stating their areas of interest.

The concept was pioneered by Amna Al Bedwawi, e-content editor at the e-Government Development Department.

The Happiness Bank is supported and sponsored by Sheikh Muhamed Bin Rashid, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
