The Halifax International Airport in Halifax, Nova Scotia, has installed a library kiosk, allowing users to scan their library card, enter a pin and the book selection. Users can take a book for up to three weeks, according to the Chronicle Herald News
Users can remove the books from the kiosk and look at them before making a selection. Once the kiosk door is closed, the system scans the interior to detect what has been signed out and provides a receipt.
Borrowers can return books in one of three ways: return them to the checkout kiosk; deposit them in a box near the luggage claim; or drop them at any Halifax library branch.
