Wisconsin county installs breathalyzer kiosk for work release program

The sheriff's department in Door County, Wisconsin, has installed two automated breathalyzer kiosks at the county justice center in Sturgeon Bay to conduct daily alcohol screening of offenders participating in the Huber Work Release program, according to the Wisconsin Law Journal

The kiosks, made by Minneapolis-based Precision Kiosk Technologies, print a receipt following a successful alcohol screening test.

The kiosks have an interactive alcohol-screening function and a management software program. They use biometric fingerprint identification, capture video while administering the breathalyzer test, and upload the results to the offender's file. The unit can test up to 40 individuals per hour, day and night.

The cloud-based management software coordinates test scheduling and manages test notifications and accounting.
