Guntur District Cooperative Central Bank in the eastern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh state, has launched mobile ATM vans and a mobile app in order to serve the state's rural population

Farmers, who comprise the bulk of the bank's customers, can now perform nearly all banking transactions via smartphone, according to a report by The Hindu.

A spokesman for Gunter DCCB told the publication that personnel at the bank's 13 locations would help customers to download the app and show them how to use its features.

Additionally, each of the cooperative banks in the Guntur district has been provided with a mobile banking van by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development. The van provides ATM services and doubles as a financial literacy center, the report said.
