Convenience store giant 7-Eleven is testing Scan & Pay, a mobile app that lets customers to skip the line and pay for purchases with the 7-Eleven mobile app connected to the chain's 7Rewards loyalty program. According to a press release

The chain initially announced the acceptance of the mobile payment platforms in September. The pilot program, which works with both iOS and Android devices, has launched in 14 Dallas-area stores. The app can be used for all purchases except those requiring proof of age, such as lottery tickets, cigarettes and alcohol, as well as hot foods and financial services.

Customers can also use Google Pay, Apple Pay or regular credit or debit cards to pay for purchases, the release said.

The chain said it tested the app at its Store Support Center before implementing the pilot program. The company plans to roll out the app nationwide in 2019, the release said.
