Civiq Smartscapes, a kiosk solutions provider, will provide smart kiosks for the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority's Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in South Boston

The first unit has already been installed in front of the venue on Summer Street, and additional placement options on the BCEC's 70-acre campus are under consideration, according to a press release.

The Civiq WayPointX kiosks will provide information for convention center visitors, including local points of interest, transit information, high speed USB charging, public service messaging and a photo booth that allows visitors to upload and share pictures on social media. In addition, a new digital option available for the WayPointX will assist convention customers, advertisers and the Authority in promoting event activity and managing branding and general promotional efforts.

«The MCCA's focus is to provide an authentic and memorable customer experience for event attendees,» Ed Bryan, director of IT show operations, said in the release. «We now have the ability to deliver real-time, interactive content and information related to our venue and the surrounding South Boston community.»
