Star Micronics is launching a portfolio of cloud-based tablet POS options for the retail sector.
The mC-Print series, TSP654II CloudPRNT-POT and TSP:143IIIU, are «game-changer» technologies, according to a press release.
«The retail landscape is rapidly evolving,» Simon Martin, Star Micronics director and general manager for EMEA, said in the release. «While traditional POS solutions have the usual important role to play we are witnessing a distinct shift toward cloud-based tablet POS solutions … that allow retailers of all sizes to benefit from the very latest cloud-based tablet POS technology.»
The solutions were developed in partnership with software players bitbakers (Flour.io), Inventorum, iZettle and Posmatic. The mC-Print models feature 58mm and 80mm print widths, a multiple POS peripheral hub and functionality of five interfaces for both traditional and tablet POS applications.
