365 Retail Markets, a provider of self-service micro markets, has introduced an audio accessibility feature to its mobile payment app to help visually impaired customers make purchases from micro markets, the company announced in a blog. The app reads aloud what the visually impaired user has selected and allows them to check out.
The 365Pay app utilizes iOS Voiceover and Android Talkback, which are built-in accessibility tools that users can enable via «settings» on their phone. Users can download the app to use this feature.
«It's nice that the new voice over option is built-in and that users don't have to learn new technology or download third-party tools,» Nicholas Gacos, president of National Association of Blind Merchants, said in the blog. «365Pay has improved the way we snack.»
