365 Retail Markets acquires Company Kitchen’s tech division from Canteen

365 Retail Markets, one of the largest micro market providers, has acquired Company Kitchen's self-service technology division, one of its biggest competitors, from Canteen, which acquired Company Kitchen in March of this year.

Company Kitchen technology division employees and customers will transition to be a part of 365 Retail Markets, according to a press release.

Ann Sheridan, senior director of communications at Compass Group USA, Canteen's parent company, confirmed the sale of Company Kitchen's technology division in an email to Kiosk Marketplace. Sheridan said Canteen acquired Company Kitchen, a Merriam, Kansas based refreshment services provider, this past March. Sheridan said Canteen plans to continue and grow the Company Kitchen brand.

«We certainly expect to leverage this to expand our leadership position, to enhance the already great dining experience that CK offers, and to bring our self-service technology expertise to customers we have not worked with in the past,» Joe Hessling, CEO of 365 Retail Markets, said in a prepared statement.

Company Kitchen confirmed the transaction will add thousands of market locations, hundreds of dining locations as well as a team of 30 people to 365 Retail Markets, according to the release. Company Kitchen customers will continue to be serviced by the current team from their offices in Merriam, Kansas.

«It's really exciting to bring the best of breed technology with the highest levels of security, privacy and operational ease in the industry to our customer base,» Krishna Vedula, 365 Retail Markets CTO, said in the release.
