The EMV standard has been developed by Europay, MasterCard and Visa for working with compliant-chip cards

The payment software by SAGA Technologies has completed the certification to the EMV international standard.

The EMVCo Terminal Type certificate gives our company the right to perform transactions with compliant-chip cards and PIN-codes with the use of the SAGA software.

This certificate enables us to expand the range of ready-to-use software and hardware solutions, and to increase significantly the company’s capabilities in the field of the system integration of projects which comprise the use of equipment working with compliant-chip bank cards. This can be any equipment: ATMs, ticket machines, informational terminals, vending machines, payment terminals and kiosks, contract terminals, equipment for the queuing systems and access and monitoring control systems, etc.

Also we contemplate to use the software with the EMV core in our standard equipment including ATMs, which our company produces as a vendor.

The EMV (Europay + MasterCard + VISA) is the international standard for transactions with compliant-chip bank cards. This standard was developed by joint efforts of the Europay, MasterCard and Visa to increase the security level of the financial transactions.

The main difference for the user of the EMV-card – the prior request of PIN-code at each payment via the terminal (for example, in shops and restaurants). Nonetheless, this requirement is not mandatory: the emitting bank can adjust the CVM-list of the compliant-chip card so that it will request the signature in the first place.

The EMV standard defines the physical, electronic and informational interaction between the bank card and the payment terminal for financial transactions. There are standards based on the ISO/IEC 7816 for contact cards and ISO/IEC 14443 for proximity cards.
