Retailers in Carlton, Australia, where stores have been closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, have turned to a vending machine to sell wares, according to a msn.com report.

Kate McMahon, who owns an urban strategy agency called Hello City, developed the vending concept, #AutomaticManStreet, with Laura Camilleri, creative director of Grosz Co Lab, a design studio. The machine sells snacks, books, toys and vouchers for meals and beverages.

The developers are promoting the offerings in the machine via social media, according to the report.

People can buy a food and a wine tasting experience from Jimmy Watson's, which offers a historical experience taking them through nine decades of the business' history. They can also buy an evening experience from wine bar Heart Attack and Vine, to be conducted either remotely or in-person in the future.

La Mama Theatre, which burned down in 2018, is selling tickets to a reopening event.

Indigenous Hospitality House, which offers accommodation to Indigenous Australians with family members in the hospital, is selling vouchers for a chance to win fresh produce from the garden or dinner in the kitchen.
