Kiosks that incorporate ID verification can enable businesses to offer customers to socially distance and reduce face-to-face contact, according to a Forbes article on this topic by Joe Oprosko, president and CEO of Veridocs, which provides facial matching, ID authentication and watch list management.
Oprosko notes that the casino industry has used kiosks to help guests enroll in loyalty clubs, cash out winnings, check into hotel rooms and more. Casinos use ID authentication technology to comply with government regulations and prevent fraud.
To use kiosks for ID sensitive transactions, a business can equip a kiosk with an ID reader that compares the ID to a global database.
Facial recognition also provides an additional security layer using a webcam attachment or a standard computer cameras, the article noted.
