The artificial intelligence (AI) system integrated by JSC Transinfoset in the SAGA ticket machine recognizes all pages of a Russian passport filled in both printed letters and by hand, with perforated numbers stamps. Additionally, the AI recognizes passports from over 210 jurisdictions of the world, allowing travelers from virtually all over the world to buy tickets for long distance trains.

At the same the system guarantees privacy and secure work with sensitive and personal data in compliance with the world personal data processing security standards.

The first SAGA self-service terminals were installed as a pilot project at the Leningradsky railway station in Moscow (4th quarter of 2020) and the Moskovsky railway station in St. Petersburg (5th quarter of 2021). The test operation revealed the decreasing number of errors at filling in passengers’ passport data, six-fold decreasing of time spent on routine data input process, improved economic effect at operation of the equipment.

It is planned to increase the park of the unique ticket machines to 300 in 2022. To start out, the smart terminals will be delivered to Russia’s busiest railway stations.

SAGA products became a part of a unique project, and our company will make all possible efforts for its successful implementation. Introduction of the most advanced hardware and software ticketing systems will be a significant step towards the development of passenger transportation in the Russian Federation.
