Travelers at Pittsburgh International Airport can have smartphone orders delivered to them by autonomous robots, according to a triblive.com report. The robots, known as Ottobots, are provided by Ottonomy, a Santa Monica, California-based technology company, under the Allegheny County Airport Authority's xBridge initiative.

Free soda and bottled water are provided to volunteers who order using the app.

The airport hopes to expand the test following a 30-day pilot period.

Allegheny County Airport Authority provided the funding for the test but declined to say how much.
