American Airlines will launch a new kiosk system to assist with airport check-in, according to a View from the Wing news report.

American is speeding up the check-in process by launching bag-tag kiosks that flyers will use to scan their boarding passes and print luggage tags and encouraging customers to prepay for bags with a discount.

American has tested these kiosks at Dallas and Miami airports and will roll out at additional airports «over the next several months,» according to the report.

According to an internal note to employees obtained by View from the Wing, «customers departing from airports with these kiosks will receive an email four hours before their departure to remind them to use the express kiosks when they arrive at the airport.» The note continues, «[Customers] can then scan their mobile or printed boarding pass at the kiosk to automatically print their bag tags.»
