Airtel, Empays partnership to enable cardless cash at ATMs across India

Airtel Payments Bank and Empays Payment Systems have partnered to enable cardless cash withdrawals at ATMs across India. The service will be available to both feature phone and smartphone customers through a USSD quick code – *400# – and the MyAirtel app

«The tie-up will enable Airtel Payments Bank's savings account holders to withdraw cash using just their mobile phone through the cardless cash technology of Empays, called [Instant Money Transfer],» Airtel said in a press statement. «The technology can be used for self-withdrawal or for sending money to an intended recipient for ATM cash withdrawal.»

Initially, Airtel Payments Bank account holders will be able to use the service at more than 20,000 IMT-enabled ATMs in India. By the end of the year, the company intends to make the service available at 100,000 ATMs in India.

As an introductory offer, Airtel Payments Bank will waive the 25 rupee (35 cent) transaction fee for the account holders first two personal withdrawals.
