Coinstar kiosks in some Safeway, Albertsons stores to sell bitcoin

Bitcoin users can now buy bitcoin at select Coinstar kiosks in Safeway and Albertsons stores in California, Texas and Washington, according to geekwire.com.

Coinstar has teamed with Coinme, a provider of cryptocurrency ATMs, to allow Coinstar kiosk users to buy bitcoin. In exchange for cash, Coinstar will provide a code that can be redeemed for the cryptocurrency at the Coinme website.

The companies did not say how many of Constar's 20,000 kiosks would be enabled for bitcoin purchases. All purchases must be made with cash, with a $2,500 limit per purchase.
