Two Rhode Island casinos, Twin River Tiverton and Twin River Lincoln, have added self-betting kiosks as a way to reduce lines at their sportsbooks' ticket windows, just before the start of March Madness, the busiest time for sports gambling following the NFL Super Bowl. March Madness began March 17.

Rhode Island has become the first New England state to offer sports gambling, according to calvinayre.com.

Twin River Management Group owns the casinos, and the Rhode Island Department of Revenue tested the kiosks prior to March Madness to make sure the complied with state gambling laws.

17 kiosks are expected to be installed at Twin River Lincoln while the Twin River Tiverton will have five.
