Turkish state lenders are cooperating to create an ATM network that will put all Turkish ATMs under one joint brand. A private lender has already approached two banks with an offer to expand ATM services, according to a report by HurriyetDailyNews.com.

Private lenders İşbank and Akbank has signed an agreement with ING Turkey to allow its customers to use their ATMs, which will provide 12,000 additional limitless ATMs for ING customers to use.

Customers can perform all usual ATM transactions such as balance inquiries, cash withdrawals and deposits free of ATM charges within the joint network. Additionally, at the bank's ATMs ING customers can make foreign transactions or QR codes without cards.

State-owned banks Ziraat, Halkbank, Vakıfbank, Vakıf Katılım, Ziraat Katılım, PTTBank and Emlak Katılım will also combine ATMs under the joint ATM network. Currently Ziraat has 7,200 ATMs, Vakıfbank had 4,200 and Halkbank has 4,000 ATMs across Turkey, respectively.

There are more than 53,000 ATMs in Turkey according to the Interbank Card Center figures, and 15,000 new state-owned ATMs with a common software will be placed across the country this year.
