The village of Mount Prospect, Illinois recently welcomed its utility payment kiosk at the city hall, according to a press release. The kiosk, which accepts cash, check and credit card payments, and backend system, will enable recurring online utility payments and 24/7 services for in-person cash payments for the first time.
The new payment technology, powered by the integrated Citybase payment platform, will unify online and in-person payment channels across departments.
The technology is expected to provide an estimated $50,000 in annual savings.
Customers will be able to store payment information online and schedule recurring auto-payments for water, sewer and refuse utility payments.
The village plans to expand services in the future to support additional payments such as parking tickets and food and beverage, hotel/motel, amusement, and municipal motor fuel taxes.
