Friday, 2 April 2021, the NPP Signal affiliated with the Avtomatika concern of the Rostec State Corporation and the SAGA Robotics company signed the agreement for collaborative project implementation in the field of digital self-service systems and banking equipment. The signatories of the agreement were the NPP Signal CEO Ivan Bratukhin and the SAGA Robotics CEO Andrey Zholobov.

The companies will be working on the design and production of the devices with biometric identification capacities, ATMs and other electronic devices. The collaboration will enable to enhance the quality of parts used in ATMs and digital self-service systems, provide regular supply of such parts, perform design, testing and innovative solutions implementation for industrial business.

At the moment the companies have already created the prototype of a biometric terminal capable of facial recognition for person identification and body temperature checking.

«We are estimating to produce 2000 ATMs next year», – announced the NPP Signal Deputy CEO Konstantin Movchan, According to him, the customer may be one of the Russian banks. The Russian-made ATMs could be more affordable than the foreign-made ones by approximately 10%.

«This cooperation is of mutual interest, in particular in the field of complex task solution for the development of the radioelectronic industry and diversification of the defense industry companies. The banking sector is the driver of digital economy, the banking equipment is used not only in banks but also in retail points, companies, gas stations, currency exchange points and places where payments are made. With SAGA Robotics we are ready to provide the full range of services, enhance the quality of parts used in high-tech banking equipment, provide regular supply and take part in the development and testing of the newly devices for automation of the society», – announced the First Deputy CEO of the Avtomatika concern, Andrey Motorko.

The SAGA Robotics company has a considerable experience of ATM design, but they have not yet received the Minpromtorg certification as a domestic product, explained Andrey Zholobov, the company CEO.

According to the experts of the NPP Signal, the annual demand for ATMs in Russia is about 20 thousand units. Therewith, the Russian government set a quota for Russian-made cash terminals and ATMs acquired within the framework of public procurement and by state companies by 18% for this year and 20% in 2022-2023. Thus, the necessary amount of ATMs for state banks could be up to 5 thousand units per year.

Also, within a framework of the cooperation, the first Russian industrial welding robot was brought into operation on a plant in St. Petersburg. The Russian robotics market has huge potential and the domestic-made robots can compete with the foreign ones by their performance even now. In addition, the Russian-made equipment has a number of advantages – it does not have to get customs clearance, the order terms are shorter, also maintenance can be carried out as promptly as possible.

The recording of the video is available on the website (4:30) of the Sankt-Peterburg TV channel.
