A Japan based airline has installed vending machines to dispense toy capsules containing travel tips for passengers, according to a republicworld.com report. The capsules contain a piece of paper naming a destination and a promotion code that awards points to be used towards the purchase of a ticket for that destination.
Peach Aviation Limited has installed several «gachapon» vending machines after witnessing positive results from a test machine in August.
The airline sold more than 3,000 capsules in the last three months and as many as 150 tickets on holidays. The capsules cost ¥5,000 ($43.73).
Customers receive 6,000 points, each point worth one yen.
