Amsterdam, New York became the first of five cities to install fast charging electric vehicle stations under the state's Downtown Revitalization Initiative, according to a news10.com report. The units are also part of the New York Power Authority's EVolveNY fast charging network.
The program will bring charging stations to downtown areas undergoing revitalization.
The program also supports the state's clean energy goals, reducing greenhouse gas emissions 85% by 2050.
