UK retailer offers self-service package pickup kiosk

The Timpson Group, a U.K. and Irish retailer with a portfolio of more than 2,100 stores, has teamed with Position Imaging Inc., a provider in package logistics and asset tracking, to offer self-service package pickup kiosks in stores to address rising package delivery volume, according to a press release.

Position Imaging's iPickup Courier Access Point uses AI-based computer vision technology to provide self-service package pick up and drop off, a service that has become an option for package deliveries at stores, both for couriers and customers. Stores offering the PUDO service can provide convenience for customers and drive additional foot traffic in the store.
