Brooklyn Dumpling Shop, a New York City-based restaurant modeled on the historic Automat self-service concept, has teamed with iPourit, maker of a self-pour beverage system, to allow patrons to pour themselves draft beer and wine, according to a press release.
The flagship location at 131 1st Ave. recently became the first of many Brooklyn Dumpling Shop locations to incorporate iPourit, which allows patrons to control their own tasting experience, avoid long lines and pour as much or as little as they choose.
Brooklyn Dumpling Shop guests can place an order on their phone or via one of the restaurant's touchless POS kiosks. When an order is ready, the customer receives a text notification to get their delivery from a marked, temperature-controlled locker that opens automatically once the customer scans their barcode.
Lockers storing hot food are red-lit, indicating it's 145 degrees; chilled lockers are blue-lit and 38 degrees. Auburn-lit lockers will disclose that an item is at room temperature.
